Newspapers in Education (NIE) is a program designed to utilize newspapers as instructional tools in the classroom: promoting literacy, intellectual growth, and exposure to current events. Newspapers like the Savannah Morning News collaborate with local schools and NIE to distribute teaching materials, newsletters, training materials, educational supplements, ideas for expanding curriculum, and more.It gives students access to the daily newspaper as well as activities that can be used to incorporate the daily news into your classes.Students will have access to the E-edition and website 24/7 so they can utilize it at home, after school, or on the weekends.
