HELPFUL TIPS FOR NON-PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION AT SCHOOL

·         Any medication must be in the original packaging, age appropriate, unexpired, and have a note from parent with the students name, medication, dose, how often, parent’s signature and dated.

o    This includes cough drops.  Students are not allowed to carry them in pockets.

·         Any medication containing aspirin can only be given with a note from both a parent AND physician.  Many non-prescription medications contain aspirin, please read the label.

o    Two common ones are Alka-Seltzer and Pepto-Bismol.

·         Medication that is given for 15 days consecutively will require a note from a physician.
