HELPFUL TIPS FOR NON-PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION AT SCHOOL
· Any medication must be in the original packaging, age appropriate, unexpired, and have a note from parent with the students name, medication, dose, how often, parent’s signature and dated.
o This includes cough drops. Students are not allowed to carry them in pockets.
· Any medication containing aspirin can only be given with a note from both a parent AND physician. Many non-prescription medications contain aspirin, please read the label.
o Two common ones are Alka-Seltzer and Pepto-Bismol.
· Medication that is given for 15 days consecutively will require a note from a physician.
