CSCOPE Curriculum Support System
Canyon Independent School District is excited to participate in the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC) and to use CSCOPE as a curriculum support system with our students. CSCOPE provides curriculum for core area subjects K-12. It is aligned with state standards, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and the state assessment, Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). CSCOPE is a concept-based curriculum that provides a common language, structure and process for students and teachers.
Exemplar lessons are included for teacher study and/or use; these lessons are based on the highly effective and research based 5-E model of instruction (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate.) Other resources are available for student and teacher use as well.
Below, you will find more information about CSCOPE. For parent perusal, CISD has posted a summary of each grade level unit of instruction, so that parents can partner with their children and their children's teachers in our educational journey from K-12.
Parents are highly encouraged and welcomed to contact teachers and administrators for more detailed information about district curriculum and classroom instructional practices. There is also a link to the CSCOPE website for more information on this curriculum support system.
