The Khan Academy is a site with over 2,400 short and to the point educational videos for science, math, and more. Students and parents can find help with everything from basic math, calculus, physics, chemistry, finance, history, and more.Mathtrain.TV is a free, educational "kids teaching kids" project. Students create videos to help their peers learn difficult math concepts.The CK-12 site provides free, open source materials and textbooks to help students learn.WolframAlpha gives students access to the world's facts and data and calculates answers across a range of topics.
Harrington Library Consortium for Canyon and Amarillo Public Libraries provides free resources for learning and research. You must have a library card and a pin number for many of the databases. You can obtain these through the public library.HelpNow! provides homework help for all ages. HelpNow! provides a live tutor for math, science, English, Spanish, and more. Help is also available for ACT, SAT, and GED practice. A Canyon or Amarillo Public Library card number is required along with a pin number assigned from the library. This service is provided by the Harrington Library Consortium.
Google Lit Trips are free downloadable files that mark the journeys of characters from famous literature on the surface of Google Earth. At each location along the journey there are placemarks with pop-up windows containing a variety of resources including relevant media, thought provoking discussion starters, and links to supplementary information about “real world” references made in that particular portion of the story.Utilize CISD's online grade viewer to see student grades.
