Canyon ISD Update

This April, we proudly recognized 21 Campus Teachers of the Year and announced our 2025 District Teachers of the Year. Bailey Gaddy, a fourth-grade teacher at Spring Canyon Elementary, was named Elementary Teacher of the Year. Kaitlyn Wilhelm, a Reading Interventionist at Randall Junior High, was named Secondary Teacher of the Year. These outstanding educators reflect the heart, dedication, and impact that make a lasting difference in students’ lives. They are true examples of what it means to empower lifelong success.

While we honor the people shaping each day in our classrooms, we are also planning for the future. This month, our Strategic Plan Design Team gathered to plan for Year 2, continuing the important work of expanding student opportunities, supporting staff, and strengthening our schools.

Registration for the 2025–2026 school year is underway, and now is the time for families to register their students. Early registration helps our campuses plan for staffing, class sizes, and new opportunities for students next year. We are excited about the future we are building together.

Meanwhile, Canyon ISD students continue to achieve at the highest levels across academics, fine arts, and athletics. In one of the biggest highlights of the month, the Randall High School Lady Raiders Soccer Team captured the 2024 UIL Class 4A State Championship. This is the first Soccer State Championship for any school in the Panhandle.

Across the district, students are also competing in UIL academic and fine arts events, with many advancing to regional and state competitions. Art students from CHS, RHS, and WPHS competed at the State Visual Arts Scholastic Event last week.  Students from CHS, RHS, and WPHS will compete at the State Track Meet this week. RHS One-Act Play advances to State competition.  Students from CHS, RHS, and WPHS will compete at State UIL Academic competition as well. Baseball programs continue playoff competition and Tennis programs are playing the District Tournament this week.

We are proud of the way our students represent Canyon ISD, demonstrating character, commitment, and excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

Congratulations, again, to our Teachers of the Year!

Thank you for being part of our CISD family. Together, we are empowering lifelong success, one student at a time.
