The Canyon Independent School District serves two communities, Canyon and Amarillo, in Randall County of the Texas Panhandle. The district covers a large area, which encompasses 732 square miles. The north end of the district has 8 campuses in south Amarillo that offer immediate access to city amenities, while those in the city of Canyon offer a small-town atmosphere with easy access to the city. In the city of Canyon there are 5 campuses, and 2 campuses are located in between the two cities.
The Canyon ISD community is well known for its commitment to children and education. Within district attendance boundaries, new homes and new neighborhoods abound. Many new families move into the Canyon ISD attendance area because of the reputation of the schools and the quality of life found here. The school district is a learning community, providing opportunities for all students and staff to reach their learning potentials.
