Federal Income Tax Withholding

  • Do you need to change your Federal Income Tax Withholding?
  • IRS changed the format of the W-4 Form, effective 1/01/2020. (See this memo.)
  • Need assistance, go to IRS Tax Withholding Estimator for Employees
  • Submit a W-4 change online via Employee Self Service (ESS).  When logged in, select Pay/Tax Information, select W-4, select Edit FEDERAL.  The screen will be pre-populated with your current values.  Update with your new values.  
  • To ensure timely processing, submit at least five business days prior to your next Pay Date.
  • Want to know how this change will impact your next monthly pay, select Paycheck Simulator, and update the values on the Federal Tax row.   Do not enter a value in the Exemptions field.

Employee Self Service (ESS) – click this link to access ESS

  • Employee access to Pay/Tax Information to view/print:  YTD information (Pay Advices), W-2 Tax Statements, 1095s Health Insurance Offer/Coverage Tax Statements, W-4 Form, Paycheck Simulator, and Direct Deposit.  See below for more information.

User Name – first letter of your first name, plus last name, all together

Password – FOR THE FIRST TIME – last four digits of your Social Security Number.  After this, it will ask you to select a new password (keep in mind that your new password must meet the requirements listed on the screen).  This will be your new password each time you log in after this initial time.  If you forget your User Name or Password, use the available help feature.  If you exceed the number of attempts, or lock yourself out, contact DSC Technology, extension 2660.
